Autocode

A local-first browser application for a coding agent.

← Portfolio

Autocode gives the headless agent harness a browser interface and a durable place to inspect its work. A user can create a session, send a task, follow events as they arrive, and return to the same timeline after refreshing the page.

What it contains

The application combines a semantic HTML and JavaScript frontend with FastAPI REST routes and a WebSocket event stream. A shared application service supports both the web and command-line interfaces. An append-only journal records events, while a SQLite projection makes sessions queryable. The project also includes artifacts, search, sync, replay, background jobs, and update and operations paths.

The default runner is deterministic, so the complete request and event flow can be tried locally without an API key. A live agent-harness adapter is available when a provider is configured.

The local implementation is the demonstrated path. PostgreSQL, S3-compatible storage, managed identity, and a reverse proxy are separate production adapters.
